Camouflage might not be the most traditional print for country attire, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring…

CLASH PRINTS FOR A MODERN LOOK

Camo and khaki are typical country colour palettes, but look so different depending on how you’re wearing them. My take here is inspired by an African safari look but given an English twist with a fun pair of lace up wellingtons and a Dubarry rucksack. A suede shirt is a good transitional piece for this time of year – and tying it instead of tucking it in helps create a more undone appearance. The final touch to this outfit is a touch of leopard print, in the form of a necktie clashing with the camo printed trousers.

As Creative Director of the Lowther Castle enterprise, Vanessa Lowther is used to taking a nontraditional route to country life. She’s recently re-opened the Castle as a visitor attraction that includes a growing egg sculpture exhibition – and her sports luxe outfit proves she’s all about injecting fun into everyday life. Vanessa has cleverly and boldly paired her camouflage flower printed coat from Muveil with her Zara trousers to create an uber trendy take on mixing two popular fashion trends effortlessly. Vanessa has also given the jacket a fun flirty edge by adding a touch of bedazzling to her camouflage collar. She’s pared it down with a subtle green polo neck, but if you’re feeling brave try a bold colour to add some spring into your step.

DON’T DISMISS LEOPARD PRINT

I spotted Sophie Beaty – former international event rider – at Cheltenham recently rocking an alternative look for the racing event but looking extremely cool. Sophie has done well to stick with a variation of camel and brown colours to tie in with her RIXO London leopard print shirt and has smartly added a well fitted pair of black trousers to help this outfit pack a punch.
